Brexit Day

January 2020

So the 31st of January 2020, was the official day that the UK left the European Union. The streets were flooded with with happy British people celebrating their freedom from the tyranny of a peaceful Europe.

Ok so that is not entirely true, there was a small gathering of maybe 1000 people at parliament square, bathing in British empire nostalgia and a small gathering of about 200 of those were celebrating, around a truck that was playing ‘British’ music (mostly Madness and old TV themes).

The few that were there did seem genuinely happy - It’s was a day of celebration. Though some of the peoples messages were a bit confused or just drifting into anger and hate.

Also the colour palate was consistent, the union Jack flag go’s with everything…
